The Centre Pompidou is known as the Pompidou Centre in English, and the locals refer to it as Beaubourg, but no matter what you call it, this is the largest modern art museum in Europe. As an ever-growing and changing collection, we believe there is a right way to visit this museum. Our tours focus on a deeper understanding and appreciation of the work and the artists of the modern age.
Starting with modern classics such as Picasso, Chagall, this tour explores the traditional movements of modern art such as cubism and, surrealism housed on one floor. Then we move to the second floor and transition into contemporary art with a visit to a temporary exhibition. We will see both iconic and lesser-known artists, and explore their inspirations, innovation, and disciples. We’ll explore how art has moved from modernism to contemporary styles including some living artists of today.
Paris Art Walks is a perfect visit to the Pompidou for art lovers of modern and contemporary art who want a deeper understanding of the movements and the artists that pioneered the works that embody these terms.
Our tours are prepared by and conducted by artists and art lovers just like you. If there is a section/style/artist that you want to explore please let us know so we would love tailor your visit to what inspires you!
